Murder investigation is launched as man, 31, dies in hospital after Edinburgh assault

A murder investigation has been launched after a man who was attacked died in hospital.

The 31-year-old was the victim of a serious assault in Dumbryden Gardens in Wester Hailes, Edinburgh, at about 4.30pm on Friday.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but died earlier today.

Police Scotland Detective Inspector Grant Johnston said: "A member of the public may hold a key piece of information that could assist with the investigation.

"We are appealing to anyone who saw anything in and around Dumbryden Gardens on Friday afternoon to get in touch as soon as possible."
