POLICE working to establish if the former Scots girlfriend of murderer John Sweeney is dead or alive have traced the woman.
The Metropolitan Police said the woman, originally from Fife, had come forward following an appeal to trace her whereabouts as police work to establish if Sweeney claimed any further victims.
Sweeney, 56, who called himself the Scalp Hunter, was jailed in 2011 for the murders of model Melissa Halstead and prostitute Paula Fields.
