Construction work starts soon on a new £17.6 million home for the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO).

But musicians Sue Buchan, left, and Caroline Parry got in some early practice at the site next to the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow where it will be built. The new building will be a 600-seater venue with rehearsal and recording facilities.

The RSNO had to raise £2m towards construction costs, but £1.25m from Creative Scotland and others helped it top this figure. The RSNO hopes to raise £1m to fit it out and there is an appeal to raise the remaining £500,000.
