A PROJECT to encourage singing in the run-up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games is being expanded to cover the UK.

The Big Big Sing, part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme, aims to inspire thousands of people in Scotland to take up singing ahead of and during the Games. Now it has been awarded more than £485,000 from the Big Lottery Fund and the Spirit Of 2012 Trust to bring the "celebration of singing" from Scotland to the rest of the UK.

The Spirit Of 2012 Trust aims to help people get involved in their community.
