Police have launched an investigation after a woman's body was found in a city park.

They are currently treating the death as unexplained.

The body was found in a park near Tynecastle Street in Glasgow's east end at around 4pm today.

A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.

A police spokesman said: "Police are currently treating the death as unexplained and a formal identification has still to take place.

"Inquiries are continuing."
