Nearly £5m 'may have been spent on hoax fire calls in three years'

ALMOST £5 million of taxpayers' money could have been wasted by Scottish fire crews having to attend hoax calls, it has emerged.

The huge bill has been racked up by nearly 10,000 false call-outs in the past three years.

The figures were revealed following a freedom of information (FoI) request to the eight fire services in this country.
