New beer for Green activists to quench their thirst

Scottish Green Party campaigners have launched their very own "Hoptimistic" beer for the final weeks of the independence referendum campaign.

Hoptimistic Future is a limited edition IPA to quench the thirst of members after they knock on doors across the country.

Green co-leader Patrick Harvie said: "Only the Yes campaign is offering a positive vision for the future of Scotland. This is a small reward for our activists on the streets campaigning for a fairer and greener country with a Yes vote.

"In a world of many challenges, Scotland has this one opportunity to do things differently, which is why we can be optimistic about our future.

"There are brilliant small breweries opening up right across Scotland but we could do more with control of our own taxation system to challenge the dominance of the big brewers, who are more interested in volume than quality."
