Kevin Pringle, senior political spokesman for First Minister Alex Salmond since the SNP’s election win in May 2007, is taking up a powerful new post at party HQ in Edinburgh.
He will become director of strategic communication and his responsibilities will include the SNP’s preparations for the independence referendum campaign.
Working as part of chief executive Peter Murrell’s headquarters team, Mr Pringle will continue to report to Mr Salmond as party leader, and will also liaise closely with Nicola Sturgeon in her capacity as a member of the advisory doard of Yes Scotland.
