SCOTLAND'S national theatre company is finally to have a headquarters in Glasgow with the help of a £2 million Scottish Government funding package.

A former warehouse in the Spiers Lock area of the city, which has been empty for 10 years, will become the new home of the National Theatre of Scotland (NTS).

The NTS was never intended to have its own home theatre, but it has not had a permanent office headquarters since it was set up in 2006.

Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop said: "Even when money is tight, it is essential our National Theatre can flourish."
