Nicklaus course is on track

Legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus could finally see a £40 million dream Scots golf course come to fruition after the resolution of a long-running land row.

Nicklaus visited the Ury Estate near Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire, five years ago and described it as a "beautiful piece of property".

The land was poised to become a Nicklaus Signature Golf Course but developers have faced several setbacks.

But now an application to build a golf course on the land has been submitted to Aberdeenshire Council.

David Fleming, a Stonehaven Community Council member, said: "This development is very welcome in Stonehaven.

"It is a great credit Mr Nicklaus has stuck with the town."
