Nightclub boss flees house fire

A millionaire businessman was forced to flee to safety when his £1.3 million mansion in the shadow of Gleneagles went on fire.

Nightclub tycoon John Bryden's home, next to the 2014 Ryder Cup venue, suffered significant damages.

Mr Bryden said: "I'm thanking God my kids were not in the house."

The blaze broke out at about 8pm on Wednesday at the six-bedroom property.
