No forced job losses at council

A SCOTS council has vowed to make no compulsory redundancies despite unveiling a budget for the coming year containing £3.8 million of savings.

Scottish Borders Council says it is honouring an agreement made previously with staff. However, it is changing employee terms and conditions.

New staff will be placed on a different rate and there will no longer be incremental pay increases.
