POLICE Scotland has denied reports that a new search has been ordered in the hunt for the body of murdered book-keeper Suzanne Pilley.

The force denied reports that existing evidence was being reviewed and said it was already part of their inquiries.

A spokesman said there were plans to mobilise officers in the Argyll countryside where the remains of Ms Pilley, 38, from Edinburgh, is believed to have been hidden by her former lover David Gilroy in 2010.

He said: "We will never close the case until the body of Suzanne Pilley is found.

"However, there are no plans to carry out any more searches. The case is always under review and if any new information, or techniques, emerge which we think could help us find the body then we will carry out more searches."

Gilroy is serving a minimum 18 years in prison for her murder. He travelled from Edinburgh to dispose of her body in remote countryside in Argyll. Police have searched the area with mountain rescue teams.
