Obama's message for couple

A Scots couple spoke of their amazement yesterday after they received a special message congratulating them on their golden wedding anniversary – from US President Barack Obama.

Eddie and Jan Black, from Cardenden, Fife, were shocked when they were handed the gold framed message from Barack and Michelle Obama.

The letters are normally only given to American citizens who reach the marriage milestone.

But Eddie, 70, explained that his son Steven, a professor, who has lived in Augusta for more than 20 years, had managed to get the message from the Obamas through his wife Leslie, who had contacted the Governor of Augusta.
