Obree goes flat out for record attempt

Graeme Obree has been putting his 2012 version of the Old Faithful through its paces in his bid to beat the land speed record for a human-powered machine.

The Scots cyclist posted a picture of himself in action on the sleek bicycle, which is a far cry from the machine built from old washing machine parts and on which he rode to the world velodrome record in 1993. Obree, 46, who was dubbed the Flying Scotsman, received a humorous tweet from one fan who wrote: "100mph on that, I am now convinced you are insane."
