Old Tube station fetches £53m

A London Underground station, closed in 1934 and later used as a Second World War command centre, has been sold for £53 million.

Brompton Road, near Harrods, was sold by the Ministry of Defence as part of a cost-cutting effort. Much of it is above ground and expected to be used for residential development.
