Olympic suffragettes march on Parliament

OLYMPIC Suffragettes were among the 200-plus women who marched on parliament in protest at Government cuts which they claim are hitting women and victims of abuse hardest.

The Olympic Suffragettes are a group of women who performed in Danny Boyle's 2012 Olympics opening ceremony. Suffragette leader Sylvia Pankhurst's granddaughter, Dr Helen Pankhurst, led a mass lobby – 106 years after her great grandmother, Emmeline, did the same. There were also speeches by prominent MPs Yvette Cooper and Caroline Lucas.
