Olympics fever hits house sales

Activity in the housing market dipped slightly last month as people remained glued to their TV screens during the Olympic Games, a report has suggested.

Chartered surveyors reported falls in demand from people looking to view properties in August as well as a drop in new sales.

Experts said sales are going through where vendors are being "realistic" with asking prices, with transaction levels predicted to pick up in the autumn.
