PARALYMPIC silver medallist Aileen McGlynn OBE will inspire others to get in the saddle at the first ever festival of inclusive cycling in Scotland.

McGlynn is due to give a talk on her achievements and give practical advice on how keen cyclists and coaches can pursue their passion at Lochore Meadows, Lochgelly, Fife, on October 12 and 13.

She said: "I am delighted to be supporting Scottish Cycling's first Festival of Inclusive Cycling and am looking forward to meeting and speaking to all the attendees.

"I think it's a great opportunity for riders, coaches, officials and those with an interest in cycling to get involved in the sport, come along and take part, in what I believe is going to be an excellent day."

McGlynn, 39, of Glasgow, and her co-pilot Helen Scott came second in the blind and visually impaired tandem one-kilometre time-trial, missing gold by half-a-second. She won gold in Athens and Beijing.

Craig Burn, Scottish Cycling's chief executive, said: "We are delighted to be working in partnership with Scottish Disability Sport to put on our first Festival of Inclusive Cycling.

"We are delighted that one of Great Britain's best Paralympians, Aileen McGlynn, is able to join us on what I believe is going to be a very interesting day. We hope everyone enjoys the day and it prepares our delegates and coaches with the knowledge and experience to be better equipped when working with riders with a disability."
