PARENTS are wanted to road test a new programme intended to help them handle bedtimes, tantrums and bad behaviour.

The director of public health for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Dr Linda de Caestecker, is seeking families to trial a computer course on parenting skills.

More than 20,000 families have taken part in Triple P parenting classes in the region, including seminars covering topics such as fussy eating and taking children to the shops.

Now, Dr de Caestecker wants to see if parents with children under the age of 12 find an online course helpful.

She said: "We're looking for parents from the Greater Glasgow and Clyde area to give us feedback on the on-line Triple P course to help us decide if we can use it more widely alongside the many other ways in which the programme is accessed."

Parents who take part will be asked to spend around 30 minutes online completing the programme every week for 14 weeks.

They will have to set individual goals and will be able to discuss issues with other participants in chatrooms.

Anyone who wants to take part should email details of their family to centralparentingteam@ggc.scot.nhs.uk.
