PLANS for the restoration of the bandstand in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park have reached a major milestone, with proposals for its repair and extension now lodged with the city council.
The bid comes after more than a decade of campaigning and fundraising, with the aim now to have it up and ready by the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the bowling competition of which will be staged just yards away.
