Parliament Day heads to town

A BORDERS town will be host to the Scottish Parliament next month on its first Parliament Day.

The new initiative will be held on November 5 at Hawick's Tower Mill.

Politicians will visit schools in the town and meet local groups and the Finance Committee will examine Scottish Government spending plans.

Presiding Officer Tricia Marwick, MSP, said: "I hope the people of Hawick will enjoy this opportunity to find out more about what we do at Holyrood and experience how easy it can be to get involved."
