Party planning

PIPER Chris Gray plays against a backdrop of flags as Glasgow prepares to welcome 150 nations for the world's biggest week of piping.

Performances from the World Pipe Band Championships and the Piping Live! Glasgow International Piping Festival are to be uploaded on to the internet, with organisers predicting "viewing parties" will be held by bagpipe enthusiasts around the world.

The events will take place from August 11 to 17 and are expected to attract 50,000 spectators to Glasgow.
