Passenger threatened explosion

A drunken air passenger threatened to blow up Glasgow Airport after his friend was arrested.

Jonathan Cresswell made the threat to officers after calling them from a visitor information desk to demand why his friend had been apprehended.

Paisley Sheriff Court heard Cresswell, 42, went to the desk in a rage after the arrest.

Anxious staff called police and handed Cresswell the phone, and he said: "If I don't get police here in 15 seconds I'm going to blow the f****** place up."

Cresswell, formerly of Pollokshields in Glasgow and now of Swindon, Wiltshire, admitted conducting himself in a threatening manner.

He was made the subject of a community payback order requiring him to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
