THE average annual income for someone retiring in Scotland this year has gone up by £800, according to new research.

A survey by Prudential found that pensioners' expected incomes have increased to £15,000 in 2013, a rise of 5.6% on the year before.
Scotland is the only area in the UK where the amount pensioners expect to live on has increased – but those leaving work are still worse off now than they were at the start of the economic downturn.
