Pfizer takeover bid is scrutinised

Drugs giant Pfizer is under increasing pressure to protect British jobs as the company's Scots-born boss Ian Read flies in to try to persuade MPs to support its proposed takeover of AstraZeneca.

Labour has urged Business Secretary Vince Cable to introduce a stronger public interest test on such bids.The Unite union is to campaign against the bid.
