Plans for Hyundai site given green light

A MAJOR application for a complex of businesses, hotels, homes and schools at the site of the mothballed Hyundai electronics plant in Dunfermline, Fife, has been approved.

Fife Council backed the redevelopment of the 150-acre site, which has lain empty for 13 years since plans for a £3 billion factory fell through.

Current owners Shepherd Offshore plan to develop the site, which sits between the M90 motorway with Calais Muir Wood to the south and Halbeath to the north, for mixed use.
