Pledge on care home complaints

The system for investigating complaints against care homes and services for older people will now be better and faster, according to inspectors, who relaunched it yesterday.

The Care Inspectorate has promised to streamline the time it takes to investigate and rule on complaints, and make the results of investigations easier to understand.

It said a broad range of improvements were being made to the current system. These include a pledge to investigate and rule on most complaints within 20 working days – previously the limit was 28.
