DAVID Cameron has launched a fresh attack on the Scottish Government over the release of the man convicted of the Lockerbie bombing.

The Prime Minister said the fact that it was 1000 days since the release of Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al Megrahi was a strong reminder of the Government's poor decision-making.

Doctors predicted Megrahi had three months to live when he returned to Libya on compassionate grounds because he was suffering from prostate cancer.

However, Wednesday will be the 1000th day since his release, with his survival being linked to cancer drug abiraterone, which is not routinely available in Scotland.

Mr Cameron told The Herald: "One thousand days on, this is yet another reminder that Alex Salmond's Government's decision to free the biggest mass murderer in British history was wrong and an insult to the families of the 270 people who were murdered."
