Police chief and deputy to give up bonuses

The chief constable and deputy of the country’s largest police force have chosen not to take bonuses worth up to £25,000 because of massive cuts in public-sector funding.

Strathclyde Police’s Steve House could have received up to £25,810 -- 15% of his salary -- based on his performance, and his deputy, Neil Richardson, could have been paid £16,770.
