A video apparently showing a motorist driving while using a mobile phone, laptop and earphones is being investigated by police.

The footage, recorded by a cyclist, was captured on Queen's Road in Aberdeen.

The cyclist, known as Aberdeen Cycle Cam, catches up with the Land Rover when it is stuck in traffic and films the male driver apparently holding a mobile phone.

He appears to be wearing earphones and to have a laptop open beside him.

The cyclist said: "When I saw the laptop and headphones in both ears my reaction was just to try to document the best I could what I saw, that's why I pointed at each gadget.

"Usually I tell drivers to put their mobile phone down, but in this case I was at a loss for words.

"I haven't reported it to the police. I have done it in the past on other occasions."

The footage, which has been viewed 1,765 times, was posted on YouTube on February 5.

In the accompanying text the cyclist wrote: "This bloke is driving a 3 tonne Land Rover in town, looking at a mobile phone, laptop and wearing headphones on both ears. Not only he's not paying any attention to the road, I suspect he's not even on this planet."

Police Scotland said they are following a positive line of inquiry.
