VETERAN Hogmanay host Jackie Bird presented the world's biggest New Year's party live and direct from Edinburgh's Princes Street – with a glass of real whisky raised by the television host for the first time.
Bird, who recently underwent major surgery, left the warmth of the television studio – and her prop of cold tea normally used in the midnight toast – to bring in the bells from the heart of the capital.
