Pride of palace

Exhibition staff at the Queen's Gallery at Buckingham Palace carefully hang a huge tapestry as part of a new display opening next month.

The 24ft by 16ft tapestry, entitled Peace and Mercy Win the Promise of Redemption, will form part of The Northern Renaissance: Dürer to Holbein exhibition which runs from November 2 to April 14, 2013.

The exhibition brings together more than 100 works by the greatest Northern European artists of the 15th and 16th centuries. Among the highlights are prints and drawings by Albrecht Dürer, mythological paintings by Lucas Cranach the Elder, and preparatory drawings by Hans Holbein the Younger.
