A senior officer in the Metropolitan Police's counter-terrorism unit has been placed on restricted duties while the force investigates claims by George Galloway that he entered his home without his knowledge.
The Scots-born Respect MP claimed in an Early Day Motion before the House of Commons the officer carried out an "apparent dirty tricks" operation against him, sending emails from his office and attacking him on Facebook.
