Protester ranks swell

THE campaign to save the school where the movie Gregory's Girl, pictured, was shot will join protesters at Scotland's main anti-cuts demonstration.

The Scottish Trades Union Congress is organising a mass demonstration in Glasgow today to coincide with a similar event in London.

Among those taking part are the Save Abronhill High group.

Campaigner Susan Hamilton said: "North Lanarkshire Council are proposing to close the School so that the pupils can join Cumbernauld High School. This has brought about tension, and a large number of people in Abronhill community are opposed to this move."
