Pupils sent home after power cut

PUPILS from three primary schools were sent home early after a major power cut.

A high-voltage cable fault on an overhead line resulted in the loss of electricity to 500 customers in the Gala Water Valley in the Borders. This included the primary schools at Fountainhall, Heriot and Stow in Selkirkshire.
