Puppets on a shoestring

They are one of Scotland's most distinctive theatre companies, a rare group who perform with their own hand-made puppets.

Tortoise in a Nutshell, based in Edinburgh, are bringing Feral, a show inspired by the London riots, to this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe .

The show runs at the Underbelly from August 14 to 24. Led by Ross MacKay with Alex Bird, the group works from a humble shed in Newhaven.
