Radioactive materials scare

PART of Chatelherault Country Park in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, was cordoned off by firefighters yesterday, as experts investigated a container marked as holding radioactive material.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service said: "There were no beta and gamma particles."
