Rangers ready to support police probe over stolen court papers

RANGERS would support a police investigation into stolen court papers regarding its finances, it has emerged.

It is believed the Ibrox club would back a move after claims lawyers had reported the matter to police. Court papers referring to the club’s finances were “illegally leaked” on the internet.

The documents, which relate to former chief executive Martin Bain’s unfair dismissal case against the Glasgow club, express concern Rangers would “go into insolvency” if it lost its battle with the taxman. It is understood Edinburgh-based legal firm Balfour & Manson reported the isssue of stolen court papers to Lothian and Borders Police.
