A RARE letter from the father of modern economics Adam Smith has been sold for £37,500 including premium at a London auction.
The letter by the celebrated Scotsman, dating from 1783, was bought by a collector in England with an absentee bid. It went under the hammer at a Bonhams sale of books, atlases, manuscripts and photographs in London.
