Record figures for John Lewis

SHOPPERS pushed weekly sales at John Lewis above £150 million for the first time.

The retailer said it took almost £157m in the week leading up to December 22 – a rise of 26% on the same period last year.

In all, the company said it took £684.4m in the last five weeks of the year with sales up over all departments, from beauty and clothes to electrical.
