Report gave abuse victims courage

A man who molested two children over a 14-year period was brought to justice after his victims read a newspaper article about him being jailed for abusing other youngsters, a court has heard.

Robert Tait, 64, was jailed at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in October 2011 for abusing two children, and two other victims came forward after learning of the case.

Yesterday, the High Court in Edinburgh heard how the people who were abused by Tait plucked up enough courage to tell police about their own ordeals.
