Residents hail 2am club curfew

A landmark legal ruling has granted a victory for residents living near nightclubs and late-opening bars, and has given local authorities the right to set drinking hours in their areas.

In the first test case of its kind, the Sheriff Court in Glasgow has ruled against an “upmarket nightclub” opening until 3am on the grounds that it could fuel crime and disorder and would be a source of public nuisance if given such a late licence.
