His Omar Khayyam restaurant at the Haymarket was devastated in a flood he believes was caused by tram works. He is still awaiting answers from tram chiefs over exactly what happened.

The Omar Khayyam reopened yesterday after being shut since in May, but Mr Hussain estimates the flood cost the business more than £250,000. He is also claiming a rates refund because of the effect the tram works has had on his restaurant, which he started in 1983.
