A SEARCH for a missing student is due to continue today in the River Forth.

Police yesterday scoured the Allan Water in the Bridge of Allan area as part of the search for David O'Halloran, who disappeared after a night out in Stirling last month.

The Allan Water is a tributary of the Forth and Mr O'Halloran may have been washed down stream.

A post from the family on Facebook last night said: "The police had a boat out today on the river. We have been advised that if the weather is clear tomorrow, the police will hopefully have divers out on the Forth River to continue their search. Let's all keep praying that this agonising wait is all over soon."

The last sighting of the 18-year-old was captured on CCTV. It shows him crossing Henderson Street in Bridge of Allan at 2.19am on Friday January 18. The footage shows him walking along the road towards the Keir roundabout. Inspector Pat Scroggie said: "This is the first opportunity we have had to get our boat on to the river as it has been too dangerous due to water levels and the flow rate.

"It is still too dangerous to put divers into the water but this is something we will do when the water level subsides."

Mr O'Halloran is 5ft 5in, has brown hair with blond highlights and is of slim build. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a black and green checked shirt on top, black slim-fit jeans and black trainers.
