The introduction of the new law comes on the same night when self-service cigarette vending machines will be banned, with smokers having to ask staff working in licensed premises to authorise tobacco sales from behind a bar.

Row over handling of under 25 rule for pubs
DRINKERS who look under 25 will be refused alcohol in Scotland’s pubs and nightclubs from October 1 this year if they cannot prove they are old enough to buy alcohol.
