Cartha Queen's Park starlet Moses Mazomba, 24, was back with his friends last night after authorities released him on Monday.
Last month he was taken off a flight to Zimbabwe for being disruptive after he had been ordered to leave the UK.
Campaigners for the Glasgow-based Unity group, who have been supporting his bid to remain in the UK, said an advocate successfully submitted an application for a judicial review of the Home Office's decision to refuse his application to stay.
He has now been allowed to remain in the UK pending his appeal being heard.
In a statement, the group said: "Young Moses Mazomba from Zimbabwe was released from detention on Monday after several attempts by the Home Office to forcibly remove him.
"He arrived back at Glasgow Central Station where he was met by Unity supporters and team-mates from Cartha Queens Park.
"Teammates and supporters had raised over £1000 to pay for bail for Moses but in the end this was unnecessary and Moses was given temporary admission into the UK again. Moses is now staying with his girlfriend and wants to say a huge 'Thank You!' to everyone who helped him."
