A RUSH hour accident has closed the Clydeside Expressway heading east.

Several vehicles are believed to be involved in the collision between Sawmill Roundabout and Hayburn Street.

Drivers are warned to expect delays with traffic already tailing back on the eastbound carriageway.

The incident happened around 8.40am and emergency services are on the scene.

It is believed six cars were involved in the accident.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "We received a call at 8:40am about a Road Traffic Accident involving six vehicles on the Clydeside Expressway. Emergency services are at the scene. There are no details of injuries at this time."

It follows a horror smash on the M8 yesterday morning when five people were taken to hospital following an eight car crash.
