Salmond tells Americans relationship will flourish

First Minister Alex Salmond told an audience in Chicago relations between the US and Scotland would flourish under independence.

Mr Salmond is in the United States to take part in the handover of the Ryder Cup, with the golf tournament to be held at Gleneagles in 2014.

Mr Salmond, speaking at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, took the opportunity to present his case for independence to US business leaders.
