First Minister Alex Salmond's head-to-head interview with broadcaster Jon Snow in Glasgow later this month is a sell-out.

All 600 tickets have been snapped up for the event on November 23, organised by The Herald in association with Strathclyde University Business School. It will support Glasgow-based charity the International Network of Street Papers (INSP), for which Mr Snow is an ambassador.

Tickets are still on sale for the second in the series of political conversations on independence. Former Chancellor Alistair Darling, who leads the Better Together campaign, will be interviewed on December 6 by Alan Taylor, who writes for The Herald and The Sunday Herald and edits the Scottish Review of Books.

The interviews, which focus on independence and its implications for Scotland and the UK, will also cover issues of poverty, social justice and independent media.

All proceeds will go towards the INSP's work alleviating poverty and supporting street papers such as The Big Issue.

INSP executive director Lisa Maclean said: "We're thrilled at the level of interest in our events, and the fact that the first one is a sell-out already. "

Tickets for the Alistair Darling interview are priced £12 to £15. To book, visit the university's online shop at onlineshop.strath.ac.uk.
